Miley Ray Cyrus is an American performer, actress, songwriter, and actor. Noted for her distinctive vocals that are raspy, her music incorporates elements from a variety of styles and genres, like pop, country pop hip hop, experimental, and rock. With 13 entries, Cyrus holds the record for the most US Billboard 200 top five albums of the 21st century from women artists. The controversy surrounding her life, appearance in public, and performances has often attracted media interest. Cyrus, a daughter of country singer Billy Ray Cyrus, emerged as a teen idol portraying the title character of Hannah Montana, a Disney Channel television series Hannah Montana (2006-2011). Hannah Montana was a US Billboard 200 number-oneartist, three times top five soundtrack artist, and the US Billboard Hot 100's Top Ten track, "He Could Be The One". Cyrus's discography comprises Meet Miley Cyrus (2007) and Breakout (2008); and Bangerz (2013). She also has the top-five albums Can't Be Tamed (2010) and Younger Now (2017). Miley Cyrus & her Dead Petz (2015) is her debut album that is free. The top five also included Cyrus's EPs The Time of Our Lives (2009) and She Is Coming (1999). Plastic Hearts, Cyrus' most beloved album, debuted at the top of Billboard Rock Charts. The album featured the lead single, "Midnight Sky". She also released singles such as "See You Again", 7 Things", "The Climb", Party in the U.S.A." and "Party in The U.S.A.". "Party in the U.S.A." was certified Diamond by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Cyrus's achievements in the music industry include inclusions on the Billboard's Greatest of All Time Artists chart in 2019, as well as inclusions on Time 100 lists in 2008/2014. She is often regarded as one of the few examples of successful child actors-turned-singers. Cyrus was an actress and was featured in Bolt (2008), Hannah Montana: The Movie (2010) and The Last Song (2010). Cyrus was a coach for The Voice, a singing contest, over two seasons. Also, she starred as Ashley Too in "Rachel, Jack, and Ashley Too" on Netflix's Black Mirror (2019). Cyrus is a passionate advocate for the rights of animals. She began her vegan lifestyle in 2014. In 2014, she created the Happy Hippie Foundation which focuses on youth homeless and the LGBT community.
